Cookie Policy

Last updated: November 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on trendfingers.com, what each one is for, how long it lasts, and how to refuse or remove it. It is specific to this website - it is not a general explanation of cookies, and it does not describe the measurement systems we build for clients on their own websites.

It covers this website only. Our client project sites and demos hosted under this domain carry their own notices.

Your choice comes first. Nothing in the tables below loads before you decide. The site starts with Google Consent Mode v2 set to denied for analytics storage, advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation, so Google Analytics is held back until you accept it. The banner appears on your first visit, your answer is stored on your own device, and we ask again after twelve months. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings, here or in the footer of any page.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting. A third-party cookie is set by another domain whose code the page loads. Related technologies such as localStorage work differently but raise the same questions, so we list them here too.

2. Cookies this website sets

This is the complete list. We do not set advertising or retargeting cookies on this website, and there is no Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag or TikTok Pixel on it.

The banner still offers an advertising category. Nothing on this site uses it today, so granting it stores nothing. It is there because Consent Mode v2 expects all four signals, which means a refusal is recorded from your first visit rather than added later.

2.1 Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-PFRGFKFEX2) to understand which pages are read and how people arrive. These cookies are set in our own domain by Google's gtag.js library.

NameSet byPurposeExpires
_gaGoogle Analytics 4 (first-party)Distinguishes one browser from another so repeat visits are not counted as new people.2 years
_ga_PFRGFKFEX2Google Analytics 4 (first-party)Holds the session state for this specific Analytics property.2 years

We have not enabled Google Signals, Google Ads linking or advertising personalisation on this property, so the analytics data is not used to build advertising audiences.

2.2 Anti-spam

Our enquiry form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3, which scores how likely a submission is to be automated. Without it the form is unusable because of bot traffic.

NameSet byPurposeExpires
_GRECAPTCHAGoogle (third-party, google.com)Spam and abuse prevention on the enquiry form. Loaded on pages that carry the form.Approximately 6 months

2.3 Things that are not cookies but behave similarly

NameTypePurposeLifetime
tf-consentlocalStorageRemembers your cookie choice, per category, so you are not asked again on the same browser. Stored on your device only; it is never sent to us.12 months, or until you clear your browser storage

3. Third parties that see your data without setting a cookie

Some services do not set cookies on this site but still receive technical data - including your IP address - because your browser fetches files from them:

Google is based in the United States. Transfers of personal data outside the UK are covered in our Data Protection & GDPR page.

4. How to refuse or delete cookies

4.1 Withdraw your consent on this site

Open Cookie settings, switch the categories off and save. The Consent Mode signals drop back to denied immediately, and Google Analytics stops setting and reading its cookies on the next page you open. Clearing the cookies already stored is a separate step, described below.

4.2 Block analytics specifically

4.3 Control all cookies in your browser

Every modern browser lets you block cookies, delete the ones already stored, or clear them automatically when you close it:

What you lose: nothing on this website depends on cookies. Blocking all of them does not break any page. The only visible effect is that the enquiry form may be harder to submit, because reCAPTCHA has less signal to work with and may reject a submission it cannot score.

5. Changes to this policy

If we add, remove or change a cookie, we update the table above and the date at the top of this page. The cookie tables describe what the site actually loads, not what it might load in future.
